The Young Lawyers Section promotes the objectives of the Kentucky Bar Association, assists young lawyers in the practice of law, conducts programs of interest and value to young lawyers and enhances the image of the legal profession. Our activities focus on the development of new attorneys into productive and responsible members of the legal profession in general and the Kentucky Bar Association, specifically.
Any Kentucky lawyer who is 40 years of age or under or any Kentucky lawyer who has practiced law 10 years or less regardless of age may join the Young Lawyers Section.
The KBA Young Lawyers Section is seeking young lawyers who are interested in actively participating in the Section. More information on the committees and position responsibilities can be found below:

FREE CLE Seminar – Lawyers as Leaders Series: Becoming a Superstar
As a recent law school graduate or someone who took the Kentucky Bar Examination in the last five years, you are invited to a free one day seminar to assist the transition from law school to practicing law. You will learn valuable information that will help you in your practice and in understanding the rules of court, as well as provide an overview of litigation and basic transactions.
This event is being provided by Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company of Kentucky (LMICK), the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA), and the Louisville Bar Association (LBA). Due to limited space, reserve your seat today. Application for approval of this activity for a maximum of 6.75 CLE credits is PENDING before the Kentucky Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Commission.

Call for Nominations for Annual YLS Awards
The KBA Young Lawyers Section is now accepting nominations for its annual Outstanding Young Lawyer Award, Nathaniel R. Harper Award, the Service to Young Lawyers Award and the Young Lawyer Service to Community Award. The awards will be presented individually to recipients at the KBA Annual Convention, June 6-8, 2012 in Louisville, Kentucky. Descriptions of the individual awards and the nomination process and contact person for each are outlined here. All nomination materials must be received by the listed contact person no later than Monday, April 2, 2012.
