Young Lawyers Section

The Young Lawyers Division promotes the objectives of the Kentucky Bar Association, assists young lawyers in the practice of law, conducts programs of interest and value to young lawyers and enhances the image of the legal profession.  

2010 Kentucky Law Update

The KBA presents the Kentucky Law Update one time in each Supreme Court District during the fall of each year. The program offers every Kentucky Bar Association member the opportunity to meet the annual CLE requirement, including ethics, close to home and with no registration fee.  

KBA e-News

This monthly newsletter provides information about the activities of the Kentucky Bar Association and other information relevant to attorneys practicing in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Bench and Bar

Each bi-monthly issue of Bench & Bar Magazine informs attorneys of new developments in the legal system, and helps to further educate attorneys in existing areas of the law. The magazine also provides an outlet for announcements of promotions, firm formations or relocations, and honors.

 

2012 New Lawyer Program Agenda

The June 2012 New Lawyer Program (NLP) is being held in conjunction with the 2012 KBA Annual Convention. Day One is planned for you, however on Day Two, you will choose from the Convention Programming available. New Lawyer Program attendees are also invited to attend any Annual Convention sessions offered on Friday, June 8 at no cost, and earn additional CLE credits. The program is approved in Kentucky for up to 15.0 CLE credits including up to 5.50 ethics credits. See below for the required courses and credits for each day of the program.

Wednesday, June 6 - Day One

Programming on this day will be held in Archibald Ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Rivue Tower. Day One programming is separate from the Convention programming; you will attend alongside other new attorneys in a separate room throughout the day. The only exception is the Feature CLE at 12:15 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd level of the Suite Tower. Printed materials for the day will be available on site at the program. Course Materials for Wednesday are also available for download in a PDF format.

Thursday, June 7 - Day Two

You will choose programs of interest to you from any of the KBA Convention programming taking place this day.  You will need to attend programs totaling a minimum of 6 credit hours. The only exception is you must attend the Feature CLE program at 1:20 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd level of the Suite Tower. You do not need to pre-register for the Day Two sessions you choose. A listing of convention programs available on Thursday, June 7 and Friday, June 8 is available in the Convention Brochure.
