The appointment of Honorable William Anthony Kitchen, III, to the office of Circuit Judge, 2nd Judicial Circuit, effective August 17, 2017, has created a vacancy in the office of District Judge, 2nd Judicial District, Division 1, consisting of McCracken County. To be eligible to serve as a District Judge you must:

(a) be a citizen of the United States;

(b) have been a resident of both the Commonwealth of Kentucky and of the district in which you seek appointment for two years next preceding taking office, and

(c) be licensed to practice law in the courts of the Commonwealth as well as a licensed attorney for at least two years.

Any person meeting these qualifications and desiring consideration for nomination to fill this vacancy, or any citizen desiring to recommend a person or persons with these qualifications, shall notify the Judicial Nominating Commission by communicating the name(s) on or before September 1, 2017, (see SCR 6.030).
